Scope Of Work
This major capital improvement transformed Burlingame Avenue's streetscape main shopping center from El Camino Real to California Drive. scope included replacement City's water, sewer storm drainage utilities, new decorative concrete pavers, new sidewalks, crosswalks, streetlights, asphalt concrete pavement, landscaping, planters and other amenities. Improvements were also made to fire flood infrastructure. Angled parking was converted to parallel parking in order to widen sidewalks ease traffic congestion along with addition smart parking meters. Additional sitework included underground electrical , at-grade sidewalk bulb-outs trenches.
Sustainable aspects included replacement drainage connections underground above ground to new bulb-outs with drainage facilities, underground creek channel enlargement to increase capacity, replacement sewer mains, doubling amount trees to improve shading air quality.
This was awarded APWA (American Public Works ) Silicon Valley Chapter 2015 Year Sustainable/ $5-$25 Million Category.
