Located south of downtown Dayton, D&M Welding has been a respected local welding and fabrication contract job shop since 1974. We are focused on serving our customers’ needs and understanding their industry.  As a service-oriented company, we produce racks, pallets, and other fabricated goods for the concrete block industry, carrier racks for the automotive industry, and other manufacturing support items. In additions, we support all types of manufacturers with sheet metal fabrication services with a design to delivery service that includes laser cutting, forming, welding, assembly, coating, packaging, and delivery. At our facility, you will find top of the line CNC Fiber Laser and CNC Press Brakes which support our welding services. Our team has developed a reputation for being a leading supplier for the industries it has served. Expanding upon the family legacy, D&M Welding is proud to be family owned and is now in its third generation of operation by the McCarroll family.

It all started when Clarence McCarroll began working for Dayton Brick Company doing maintenance and janitorial work. Over the course of time he would be given various opportunities to advance, including eventually filling in for the shop foreman. After what was to be a temporary role, Clarence earned a permanent leadership position. 

By 1974 Clarence was given the opportunity to purchase Dayton Brick Company. Soon after the purchase, he went to work framing the future of his family’s business. The McCarroll’s changed the direction of the business by creating fabricated products for the industry he once had worked in.

D&M Welding produced thousands of block racks, carriers, steel pallets, sand hoppers, and other fabricated goods for brick and block manufacturers. Over the years, we have proudly earned the reputation as the premier block rack producer in the industry.  

After Clarence’s two sons Jeff and Brian took over the company, they began growing the business by doing work for the local Moraine GM plant in the late 1990s and into the 2000s.  D&M produced various items, including axle carriers, throughout the years until that plant was closed.  Fuyao since has occupied the former GM plant. As a subcontractor, we have produced many fabricated items, including new and repaired carrier racks for the automotive glass manufacturer.  

Through these past opportunities and experiences, D&M Welding again has realized the possibility of serving an additional market. The McCarroll’s yet again went to work developing a process to build carrier racks and other fabricated goods for the automotive industry.

Our management team, eager to grow and with a third generation of family, took the next steps for growth.  Late in 2019, with grandsons Justin McCarroll and Bradley McCarroll at the helm, the family invested in cutting edge technology in metal fabricated goods. From design to delivery, our CNC laser cutting, CNC press brake forming, welding, assembly, packaging and delivery, plus many other value-added services give us the ability to meet the needs of numerous industries.
