Scope Of Work
Located on historic Bascom Hill at UW Madison and designed in 1900, the School of Education’s 100-year-old structure required furniture that would enable it to serve the dual purpose of refreshing historic characteristics while preparing it to meet 21st century needs.
The project involved 26 different typicals throughout the 140 private offices because of the building’s various room sizes. Creative recommended Knoll “Reff”, a wood product that proved to be the perfect solution. The pieces, with their veneer type and color, along with their edging profiles, were the perfect complement to the historic woods and trim of the building. In addition to furniture for the offices, Creative provided a variety of seating and tables for conferencing and lobby areas.
The product contributed toward attaining LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. As a result, the Education Building was submitted for LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
