The opening of Grabill Woodworking Specialties, Inc., in 1979 was the ultimate step in owner Steven K. Jones’ dedication to fine custom woodworking.

A passion for woodworking – a connection to the grain, colors, and contours – begins at an early age for most master carpenters. Steven, like all fine woodworkers, always had the knack for creating beauty with wood. He was well on his way to learning the basics as a youngster, making wood turnings with his equally wood-savvy father in the family garage. He also honed his craft working for a local cabinet maker. His apprentice and journeyman experience paid off when he went to work for Dutch Made Cabinets in Grabill, Indiana, during the 1970’s. Steven was then able to take his talent for wood and his on-the-job experience to a management position with a Goshen woodworking firm, and eventually to another crafter of fine custom woodworking before finally taking the plunge and beginning his own highly-esteemed company, Grabill Woodworking Specialties, Inc.

From the very beginning Steven K. Jones invested his considerable wood skills and experience to create the finest made-to-order furniture and cabinetry. He quickly acquired a long list of devoted customers and serious admirers for his ability to create solidly beautiful cabinetry for any room in the home.
