Should I Modernize
This is probably the toughest question to answer because there’s no hard and true fact. As elevators age, recurring repairs and shutdowns are a clear sign that your elevators will benefit from a modernization. But if you’re not sure, ask yourself these questions:
- Is your elevator equipment over 15 years old
- Have circumstances caused the elevator use to increase
- Have there been increased complaints from your customers
- Have there been more accidents involving the elevators
- Are you competing with newer buildings
- Have you updated other aspects of your building
- Is the ride is noisy or jerky
- Does the cab smell like hydraulic fluid, or is stuffy or not well ventilated
