Challenge
Cyrcon Builders was the first General Contractor to be awarded interior projects in the billion dollar, state of the art UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center. The new building was constructed to withstand an 8.0 magnitude earthquake, one of the first buildings in California built to the most recent seismic standards, and has been claimed to be the most technologically advanced hospital in the world.
Through a competitive public bidding system, Cyrcon Builders was awarded Catheter Labs five and six, and Operating Room seven. All projects were constructed to OSHPD standards. In addition to the interior construction, Cyrcon Builders purchased all of the equipment.
Results
Cost – By utilizing their team of estimators and project managers Cyrcon Builders was selected over other firms based on price and the experience of our team.
Schedule – Cyrcon Builders met UCLA’s schedule expectations and delivered the project on time.
Quality – The key to this project is quality. At the time of the project, the core and shell of the hospital had just been completed, and the first projects started were those that were most complicated. It fell to Cyrcon Builders to integrate the new operating room and labs to the building's infrastructure with OSHPD inspection standards. Because countless lives would be saved or lost at least in part because of the quality of construction, Cyrcon Builders made quality of construction the mantra of all employees and sub contractors. Cyrcon Builders was able to achieve all of the goals of the project, with no warrantee complaints and 100% customer satisfaction.
