Scope Of Work
Challenge
Cyrcon Builders was introduced to the City of Rosemead during a public competitive bidding process for a stipulated sum contract. The City of Rosemead embarked on a plan to complete two swimming centers in time for summer. Cyrcon Builders won the bid for Slash Zone, a 4.5 acre public aquatic center. When complete this project would convert the seldom used and highly seasonal outdoor pool and boring 1950’s vintage city park to a multiuse park more akin to for-profit swim parks which had the capacity to layer uses across the acreage and increase the usability of public lands and the desirability of the City. Sub projects included the conversion of an Olympic sized swimming pool to a smaller pools, creation of two water slides, construction of a pool building, snack stand and shade areas, creation of a sprinkler/splash zone, and creation of an array of play and picnic areas.
Results
Cost – Cyrcon Builders completed the project on budget and helped the City realize the potential of scarce public lands.
Schedule – Cyrcon Builders was able to finish the project early and was awarded a bonus for early completion. As a result of our efforts the children of the City of Rosemead were able to add tens of thousands of extra hours that summer fun – a value not measureable in dollars, only smiles.
Quality – The City of Rosemead had very dissimilar results with the other water park that they started simultaneously. The other park had numerous delays and defects and was an embarrassment prompting the City to hold news conferences and public meetings at Splash Zone. So popular was our team, that after Cyrcon Builders completed the Splash Zone, we were asked to help complete the other project.
