Scope Of Work
Atlanta United officially has a new home in Marietta, GA at their new training complex, The Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground. The complex features six full fields, a show pitch with 2,500 seats, deluxe first-team locker rooms with 22-foot ceilings, a full service kitchen with a balcony overlooking the field, and two sports science facilities with a double dose of hydrotherapy plunge pools.
The Acousti Engineering Company of Florida team located in Atlanta, Georgia was thrilled to have been a part of the construction of this incredible, high-tech facility. Acousti was responsible for the walls and ceilings, level-4 and level-5 finishes, acoustical plaster, linear metal ceilings, GFRG Wall panels, 3 FORM Wall Tiles, false beam ceilings and acoustical tile ceilings. All of this led Acousti to play a key role in achieving the sense of grandeur present in the Lobby, Gymnasium, and 1st Team Locker Room.
This project was packed floor-to-ceiling with specialty products, leaving behind an extremely photogenic campus. The walls for the large, elliptical locker room were executed and finished without any visible seams or misalignments (not an easy task for elliptical features). Hunter Douglas provided the ceiling material to match this ellipse, which was also installed by Acousti beautifully, another test of our ability when given non-rectangular designs. .
This project was a great success for Acousti’s Atlanta team, as they were able to complete such a unique project for Atlanta’s Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference team. Project management from Acousti and the general contractor, Holder-Moody (JV), was crucial to the success of the project’s timeline.
