Our Story

Rita Holderby founded A2Z Environmental Group in Joppa, Maryland, October 1996. Ms. Holderby is a self-motivated individual with financial, personnel and organizational skills. She possesses 30 years experience as a "general manager", a background in development, logistics, people, general operations, bidding, closing and negotiating contracts.

A2Z Environmental Group is licensed to do business in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Kentucky, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. In addition to our corporate office at 250 S. Kresson Street, we have a maintenance facility at 311 S. Haven Street, both in Baltimore, Maryland.

Maryland Department Of Transportation – MBE/DBE, City of Baltimore – WBE, Delaware Office of Minority and Women Business Enterprise-MWBE, Pennsylvania Department Of Transportation – DBE, and Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority –WMATA.

The Company originally specialized in providing roll-off dumpster services. A2Z began with a 1974 roll-off truck and five roll-off containers. We now have a fleet of roll-off trucks and hundreds of roll-off containers. As A2Z continued to grow, it was able to purchase additional equipment, hire personnel who were experienced in other areas and diversify. As heavy equipment, such as bobcats, backhoes, excavators, etc. were purchased, A2Z then began to perform jobs that required excavation and demolition. When the opportunity arose to hire employees with storage tank credentials, A2Z was able to diversify even more and perform full service underground storage tank management and non-hazardous waste handling and transportation. In 2002, A2Z acquired a new division and expanded its ser-vices even more. With the purchase of a 6,600-gallon vacuum tanker, wet/dri Vactor, Guzzler vactor, Hotsy PSI 4500, pressure washers, work boats, a Mercury vacuum, harbor containment booms and oil sorbent supplies, A2Z now provides 24 hour emer-gency response for any type of fuel or chemical spill on land and water.
