Our Story

For 35 years, Tectonic Engineering Consultants, Geologists & Land Surveyors, D.P.C. (Tectonic) has delivered quality professional services in a timely and cost effective manner by pooling its talented staff into project teams that think, act, and perform as one integral unit.  By carefully listening and collaborating with its clients, the firm is able to identify the key issues and assure stakeholder objectives are met in the final deliverables. Through innovating and adopting technological advances, the firm is able to find solutions to some of the planet’s - and country’s - most challenging problems, such as environmental degradation due to climate change and achieving massive rebuilding after extreme weather events.

As the world evolves, and its challenges grow more complex, Tectonic continues to innovate and provide the practical solutions and exceptional customer service its clients have trusted since its founding.

Tectonic is a multi-disciplined engineering firm established in 1986 with a staff of over 500 professionals comprised of civil, structural, environmental and geotechnical engineers, geologists, scientists, surveyors, planners, construction managers and construction inspectors. The firm has earned a reputation for providing solutions that are smart and practical, sensitive to budget and schedule, and that look toward the future.

Tectonic’s professional staff are united by the passion of using engineering problem solving to create significant improvements to our planet and its built environment. Tectonic’s experience includes:

  • Innovating solutions that have made some of the country’s mega projects constructible, such as the rebuilding at the World Trade Center site, the Tappan Zee Bridge replacement and the MTA’s East Side Access.
  • Assisting Fortune 500 companies with turnkey solutions for nationwide telecommunications deployments.
  • Scaling-up its project management expertise to provide program management services along with engineering and environmental services to achieve large-scale disaster recovery success.
  • Working with municipalities, schools, healthcare and private institutions on variety of facility improvements helping them achieve their strategic goals and ambitions

Tectonic has been honored as one of the top 200 firms on Engineering News-Record’s Top 500 Design Firms since 2001 and has garnered numerous Engineering Excellence Awards from the New York chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
