Scope Of Work

• The Project: Erect 13,500 square feet of scaffold platforms to provide access to overhead ceiling for multiple contractors .

 

•     The Scope: Span swimming pools, diving areas and bleachers

 

•     The Catch: Do it without draining the 400,000 gallons of water in the pool!

 

Scaffold was built over a 15 day period; Covered entire lap pool and diving pool with platforms built at mid-span between pools and around diving boards. The entire seating area was scaffold for overhead access with 6 – 27’ tall rolling towers used for mobile access across platforms.

 

The Scaffold erection was performed by specially trained, certified divers as an OSHA approved scaffold used by multiple trades with modifications as necessary for their specific needs. Safety concerns were a high priority due to the special aspects identified and planned for during pre-bid evaluation.

•     Instability caused by wet sloped flooring

•     Hypothermia

•     Shifting weight loads
 

•    The Result: Project was completed on time and on budget. More importantly no injuries or incidents over the course of the project, under some extremely unusual working conditions, were incurred by EISI scaffold builders or subcontractors using the scaffold.
 

•     EISI was recognized by the Association of Builders & Contractors (ABC) with an Excellence in Construction award for the Erection of Under Water Scaffolding at The University of Delaware’s Carpenter Sports Center
