Commercial Furnishings, Inc. specializes in performing Tenant Improvement (TI) work in office buildings of every size and configuration, and is one of the area’s top providers of flooring and wall coverings for apartment move-ins and renovations. CFI’s flooring expertise includes carpet and carpet tile (also known as modular carpet) and the entire range of resilient flooring surfaces including sheet vinyl, linoleum, VCT, and LVT. We provide and install ceramic, stone and quarry tile, hardwood floors, and terrazzo. CFI also provides concrete polishing, staining and epoxy-coated concrete flooring. Floor preparation is our specialty, including minor and major floor prep, grinding, floating, moisture testing, and providing complete moisture systems.

Our wall coverings include ceramic tile, glass tile, porcelain tile, brick and stone veneer, and wallpaper. The company installs exterior surfaces including brick veneer, stacked stone, cultured stone, limestone and other dimensional stone treatments.

HISTORY

From its humble beginnings in 1955, Commercial Furnishings, Inc. has grown into one of the region’s premier flooring, tile and stonework contractors serving a wide range of commercial customers in Southern California and beyond.  The name “Commercial Furnishings” came about from the company’s early years selling furniture, draperies, blinds and floor coverings to hotels, motels, apartments, office and residential customers.  In 1968 CFI moved from its original location at 3rd Avenue and Island in downtown San Diego to a retail space on El Cajon Boulevard. The company continued to grow and prosper and in 1982 moved to its current location at 9420 Activity Road in the heart of the Miramar business district and changed its focus solely to commercial flooring and wall-covering work. The company later expanded into ceramic tile, exterior stone and brick veneer, concrete staining, polishing and epoxy treatments.
