J. Rapaport Wood Flooring, LLC

Our firm was founded in 1909 by Jack Rapaport. Mr. Rapaport was an immigrant from Russia. Jack trained many men in his day to "scrape" and finish wood floors.  That was the term then.  Jack's motto was Free estimates and a free gift, usually a pen or an ash tray, but thanks for asking us to come into your home, job site or business. Jack grew his business to service the tri state from Suffolk, Nassau, Queens, Brooklyn, Westchester, Rockland, the Bronx, and Manhattan.  In time his great work had gained a name of great care and quality. As the next generation moved out of the 5 Boroughs, so did Rapaport Wood Flooring. The firm was now 90 men and 20 service vehicles. Soon, Jack's son Sam “Sonny" joined the family business. Recently we added the 4th generation Maxx Rapaport to our firm. 

They were waxing wood floors as maintenance to their and other clients. "Jack and son" worked together for 40 plus years. Jack past on, but his means and methods to do wood floor sanding, staining, repairing, new installation and refinishing carried on.  Rapaport Flooring was then and is now the industry leaders in technology, customer service, and client satisfaction We operate with the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) and National Oak flooring guide lines in our methods and operation daily. Most care is given to job site preparation. The proper conditions of temp and rh%.
We work to make sure that color choice to the onsite finish is special and custom. We offer dustless refinishing and low or no VOC coatings. Our resources for wood species span worldwide.  Today, our most popular wood species are American Walnut, Rift and Quartered white oak and FSC woods.   Commonly used patterns are herringbone, French herringbone and 6" wide planks and custom  parquetry to name a few.
