Our Story

Mission Statement

Provide mechanical contracting, maintenance services and metal fabrication capabilities that bring value to our customers and employees. By means of continuous education and training we will provide superior installation services and maintenance of mechanical systems ranging from heating & air conditioning, and process lines to the finest polished stainless steel tubing systems. Our custom fabrication abilities will support these endeavors by providing primary and ancillary fabrications to our installation crews and customers alike.

Company History

Iwm3 was founded by Giuseppe (Joseph) Marcello Russomanno and Florence Clementine Russomanno.

The company started as GMR welding and was founded in 1954 when Joseph and Florence decided to start their own business fabricating and installing wrought iron railing for home owners in the Pennsauken area.

In 1971, GMR Welding changed its name and incorporated as Interstate Welding and Mfg. Co., Inc. The company continued as a local provider of services for industrial and construction customers. The railing business slowed as wrought iron railing became less profitable. Interstate expanded its services by providing other railing systems, metal tanks, fabricating & erecting structural steel buildings along with custom fabrications of most metal products. Many of the steel buildings frames in the Pennsauken area were fabricated and erected by Interstate employees.

Through the 1980’s Interstate focused its business on the needs of local industry. In 1988, Joseph suffered a heart attach and underwent open heart surgery where he received six bypasses. After his surgery, Florence reentered the company as secretary and Joseph N. Russomanno became company president. As industrial customers either closed their doors or left the country, Interstate focused its efforts on providing a more service based product. Interstate entered the heating and air conditioning business as a provider of this service in the late 1990’s. The company maintained its metal design and fabrication abilities which complement the heating and air conditioning business.
