Our Story

Brekhus Tile & Stone is an award-winning, family-owned business founded in 1999.

The company has grown from individual residential and commercial projects, adding ongoing contracts with the country's largest restaurant and hotel chains, as well as the Denver metro region's most upscale shopping malls.

Brekhus Tile & Stone is the only fabricator in the Colorado region to offer a full-service operation to meet all client needs – all of which include designing, supplying material, fabricating and installing for not only commercial projects, but residential as well. Superior craftsmanship is delivered on hundreds of jobs throughout the Denver, Colorado area; including shopping malls, office buildings, apartment complexes and the nation’s largest restaurant and hotel chains.

Brekhus takes pride in being well versed in all related tile and stone needs. One-of-a-kind custom stone fabrication and installation being the specialty, as well as intricate tile installation. Most jobs are custom, complex, intricate jobs that present technical challenges that often-other companies tend to avoid. Brekhus is a proud employer of Certified Tile Installers (CTI).

In January 2016, Brekhus merged with century-old Denver Marble Company, taking on previous co-owner Scott Polak. Scott has 30 years of experience in the stone industry and is an invaluable asset to the organization. As a past board member of the Natural Stone Institute and previous president of Rocky Mountain Stone Association, Scott endeavored to help Brekhus earn the coveted accreditation from the Natural Stone Institute . In June 2016, Brekhus became an Accredited Commercial B Contractor by the NSI, making Brekhus only the 8th business in North America to achieve such an honor. This recognition symbolizes that Brekhus is among the finest in the natural stone industry with respect to craftsmanship, safety, and business practices.

On the tile side, Brekhus became members of the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) in 2014. After undergoing a thorough evaluation of their commitment to training, safety, quality, and excellence by the NTCA board, Brekus' title of Five Star Contractor was awarded in June 2018.

“Our basic philosophy is on all of our business cards. Quality, Timely, Professional. That pretty much says it all.” –Jeff Brekhus

Our Process

Brekhus Tile & Stone bidding reflects consideration of best-priced materials, informed consultation, quality craftsmanship in labor, and reliable on-site management to prevent cost overruns.

Residential: Our staffed interior designers will quote residential countertop or tile projects based off of provided customer job information. After material selection has been finalized to determine the scope of the project it is then that our fabrication shop will set up a time for a laser guided template that provides us with accurate measurements. Once template has been completed, a shop drawing layout (see image) will be sent to the client for approval. Once approved, the fabrication shop can then move the project into process. Typical time frame from start to finish usually range from 2-3 weeks (3-5 business days for the fabrication shop to get in contact to set up a time for template and 10-15 business days from time of template to installation, however this process could be held up if customer approval is not approved within a reasonable time frame).

Commercial: Once we receive client bid inquiries, one of our commercial estimators will be assigned to your project. When the project is awarded, our staff will have all information saved and organized for scheduling. Submittals are provided to ensure general contractors and estimators are on the same page.  Shop drawings and schedules are sent for approval prior to install. Our expert estimators are onsite weekly to ensure job quality and maintain project deadline scheduling.  Upon project completion, we provide you with close out documents which include warranty information, material care and maintenance.
