After founding Brekhus Tile & Stone in 1999, Jeff Brekhus has led the company through rapid growth and geographical expansion, steadily diversifying its portfolio through a focus on quality craftsmanship, durability of every installation and excellent customer service. In its first nine years of business, the company has grown far beyond individual residential and commercial projects, adding ongoing contracts with the country’s largest restaurant and hotel chains, as well as the Denver metro region’s most upscale shopping malls.

Jeff, in charge of all field operations for the company, is acknowledged as one of the leading tile industry experts in this region of the country. He sits on the product development and technological advisory board at one of the world’s largest producers of setting materials.

Jeff personally oversees almost every project in the field.  Working side-by-side with general contractors, sub-contractors, architects and employees, Jeff facilitates close communication around every job, encouraging independent thinking and decision-making. He prioritizes training and professional development, which results in long-term commitment and increasing expertise of Brekhus crew members. Prior to relocating to Boulder, CO where he founded Brekhus Tile & Stone, Jeff managed B & B Tile Inc., accumulating over ten years of expertise in design and installation of projects involving ceramic tile, granite, marble, natural stones, porcelain, ceramic and wood flooring — as well as high-end carpets.

Originally trained as a certified welder and airline mechanic, Jeff has expertise in general construction, quality inspection, inventory management, OSHA safety regulations and business management. He was educated in North Dakota where he worked on his family’s large commercial wheat farm, and in Phoenix, AZ where he was graduated with honors from the Phoenix Technical and Trade School.

Josh is Brekhus Tile & Stone's Shop Manager who handles all fabrication needs. 

A trained architect with experience in high-end resorts, commercial projects and public facilities, Kym uses her extensive knowledge of design and architecture to integrate the work of Brekhus Tile & Stone efficiently and cost-effectively with every construction project. Kym manages all day-to-day operations, estimation, and sourcing for the company.

Through her extensive experience with the analysis of construction documents and the building of supply and procurement, Kym insures that every project exceeds the design requirements for excellence in craftsmanship and materials. Kym is able to troubleshoot potential problems, before they arise, and recommend design changes to insure that tile and stone installations are of the highest quality and durability. Prior to her current position with Brekhus Tile, Kym was a Project Manager and Designer with Sam Brown & Company, an Architecture and Planning firm in Lafayette, Colorado. Kym was graduated from the Syracuse University School of Architecture in Syracuse, New York after completing the five year program, where she received a Bachelor of Architecture. This school is known as one of the top architectural schools in the world.

Scott is a rare and exceptional individual in the stone industry, where he has developed his expertise over the last 27 years.  As previous co-owner of the century-old Denver Marble Company, he carries an impressive depth of knowledge, craftsmanship, and stone tradition. He has been a board member of the Marble Institute of America, as well as president of the Rocky Mountain Stone Association. Scott enjoys and specializes in custom commercial projects and historical renovations.

Michelle has  transitioned into the commercial estimating world with Brekhus Tile & Stone & has excelled in the industry. Having a strong experience in the high end residential world, she delivers her attention to detail, organizational skills, & exceptional customer service to all her General Contractors & Architects from Boulder, to Denver, to Aspen, and beyond. 

Austin is Brekhus Tile & Stone's Scheduling and Materials Manager. He oversees all material department staff and project scheduling.

A 20-year organizational development professional, Ebert is Brekhus Tile & Stone's Human Resources Director and Safety Administrator.
