Hanley Construction

Hanley Construction grew out of a side business more than 30 years ago to become the area’s top roofing company. Founder Oliver Hanley started out by buying and remodeling homes during the summer, while on break from his job as an elementary teacher. When he couldn’t find a roofer, he became one — and the rest, as the saying goes, was history.

His son, Morgan, grew up working on construction sites. He officially joined the business in 2000, after graduating with a business degree from Washington State University. The father and son pair, both South Kitsap High graduates who grew up in Port Orchard, have been working together ever since.

Oliver Hanley continues to be involved with the company and serves as president, while Morgan is part-owner and vice president. Together, they grew the company to nearly 40 full-time employees, who work year-round and provide not only roofing but also maintenance and repair as well as a variety of construction services.

Morgan used his business background to help modernize the business, and current technology is used both to streamline operations and provide top customer experience. One thing hasn’t changed, however — the focus on old-school workmanship and on 100% customer satisfaction.

Hanley Construction is highly noticeable around the community, thanks to its signature red trucks. But the name is recognized for another reason as well: the company’s generous support of many local nonprofits, schools and sports teams.
