Scope Of Work

In the late summer of 2015, Landmark Development sought out the commercial concrete expertise of East & Westbrook Construction to complete work on yet another Faurecia warehouse. With multiple facilities across the globe, Faurecia is the world’s number one supplier of seat frames and mechanisms, emissions control technologies and vehicle interiors. E&W was challenged with completing an immense amount of concrete work in a short, 8-month window.

Armed with an aggressive completion date, the E&W crew worked 10-12 hour days at 6 to 7 days per week during the concrete construction. In just under 3 months, E&W completed the concrete foundations and the cast tilt-up panels for the massive 400,000 ft² facility. The slab-on-grade foundation consisted of 16,000 tons of stone underlayment, 7,500 CYs of concrete and 200 tons of reinforced steel. The achievement was no easy feat, and the team poured the concrete floors at 52,000 ft² every three days, while also building and erecting the tilt-up wall panels at 20,000 ft² per pour, eventually totaling 3,000 CYs of concrete to cover 118,000 ft² of walls.

The final phase of the project involved and pouring, paving and finishing the site concrete, another 1,500 CYs of concrete covering 75,000 ft² of sidewalks, pads, aprons, etc., including 10,000 ft of curbs and gutters. Throughout all phases of the project, the team ensured the highest quality concrete finishing relative to floor flatness and floor levelness. E&W is not only proud of the accomplishments in meeting the timeline, but also the outstanding quality of the finished product.
