ABOUT US

Welcome to South Bay Foundry, Inc.

How do you decide what foundry you are going to deal with?

So many foundries can supply you with products. How do you decide which ones to use?

1. “Can they make the product that you require?”
2. “Can they be competitive and give me a good cost basis to sell my products?”
3. “Can they deliver on time”
4. “Does the company have a reputation for Honesty and Integrity?”

Every Business starts with its employees.

Most companies can give you an answer to the first 3 questions, but South Bay Foundry can show you the answers to all questions. South Bay Foundry, Inc. is built on its employees and reputation. Where many companies might tell you they have Integrity, we show the answer through quality products, reputation, and personnel.

We own and operate a foundry in Mexicali, Mexico. This foundry operates using the latest pollution technology and has set new standards for the Mexican market. We produce cast iron products using green sand molding. This foundry produces 4,000 tons per year of public works castings.

At our Joint Venture facility (DDF) our annual production is 100,000 metric tons of about 3,000 different types of products.

The 3,000 different products include truck tractor & lifting equipment parts, mining machinery & oil industrial parts, construction municipal & fitting parts and more.

DDF is capable of producing ferrous (gray iron, Ductile iron, alloy steel, manganese steel, strength steel, wear resistant iron), and non ferrous metal ranging in size from a few ounces to 30,000 lbs.

DDF now has two foundries 10km cupolas from each other. The old foundry covers 33,000 m2. With two 10-ton cupolas, three vacuum molding systems and two no-bake sanding molding systems, the foundry has an annual capacity of 40,000 tons to produce construction machinery counterweights such as aerial platforms, scissors lifts, excavators, wheel loaders, crushers, crawlers, trailers, etc.

The new foundry is almost two times the old foundry in area. With designed annual production of 60,000 tons, it is equipped with two 10-ton and two 7-ton cupolas separately accompanying with 4 vacuum molding systems mainly for producing forklift counterweights and two no-bake sand molding systems for producing ductile iron / high strength cast iron castings.
Another three electric furnaces make this foundry capable of produce cast steel and wear resistance cast iron castings.

DDF has two machining workshops with over 50 machines and two CNC machining centers - vertical and horizontal that allows us to meet our customers various machining requirements.

Operating our own foundries gives us the ability to protect your ideas and patterns. We control every stage of development through production to delivery of your finished product. Control of such issues provides our customers with a comforting feeling, where in today's market so many suppliers would produce your product at any foundry for the cheapest price.

If our Mexicali or Chinese foundries cannot provide you with the product you desire, we can source it out to one of 40 other foundries that we have researched and have agreements.

I can assure you South Bay Foundry, Inc. can provide you with the quality, quantity, pricing and integrity you require.

Sincerely,

Brian Elliott
Vice President/General Manager
