Our Story

Mission:  It is the mission of Frattalone Companies to be “the trusted civil site construction contractor” for our clients - always delivering quality, commitment and creative solutions. We continually challenge ourselves to exceed our client’s expectations for value, quality, safety and on-time performance. Values:  Our people are our strongest asset. We foster a team-oriented - “can do” - culture of work, recognizing the importance of family while providing stable employment and a career path for all of our employees. We strive to develop long term relationships with our customers, vendors and suppliers. Integrity and commitment are key to all that we do. History:  In 1970, Frank Frattalone launched F.M. Frattalone Excavating & Grading, Inc. Frank’s first work provided excavation and grading services to residential home builders using a Caterpillar 955 Traxcavator and single-axle dump truck. Frank’s hard work and dedication to his clients and employees brought growth and success to the firm. Forty-five years later, Frank’s sons, Nick as CEO and Tony as President, are leading the second generation with a plan in place to continue to the third generation. Along the way the company name has changed to Frattalone Companies, Inc., to reflect the broader array of services and addition of subsidiary and affiliate operations that support our civil site construction operations. Frattalone’s growth from those early years includes the expansion of earthwork capabilities and addition of demolition, environmental remediation and underground utilities services to provide one stop civil site construction solutions for our clients. Our market area has expanded from the Twin Cities and Minnesota to the upper Midwest – and at times beyond, to support the needs of our growing client base.

Quality.  A hallmark of Frattalone's work from the very beginning when Frank Frattalone started the company in 1970. Always delivering the highest level of quality workmanship provides certainty and peace of mind for our clients.  Creativity.  Our clients frequently tell us that we offer creative solutions for their most challenging site construction and budget issues. During the budgeting and proposal process, we look for creative ways to deliver an “equal or better” result while also improving upon quality, budget and schedule. And because we know that plans sometimes change once the project starts, we carry that same thinking all the way through construction. We bring solutions to our client’s project challenges! Commitment.  We fully commit to every project that we take on. From personnel to equipment - at every level of our organization - we are focused on the positive outcome of every project.  We believe in strong, long term partnerships with our clients. Commitment is exhibited in the value that we deliver. It includes the peace of mind that the project will start and end on time, be safe, on budget and built with quality.  It’s the way we’ve always done it and our customers know that they can rely on it.
