Our Story
In 1957 with an old pickup truck and a few pieces of equipment, R. H. Garrett, Sr. founded Garrett Paving Company. His vision was to provide top quality asphalt pavement at an reasonable price as well as unmatched customer service. His business grew and prospered and quickly moved from residential to incorporate a variety of residential, commercial and governmental paving projects. In 1982 Garrett Paving Company purchased its first of three new asphalt plants from Astec Industries in Chattanooga, TN.
The company grew and prospered throughout the 90’s, helping ready Northeast Georgia for the 1996 summer Olympics. In 1998 Garrett Paving Company secured paving contracts for the Mall of Georgia in Buford, Georgia. The project was completed on time and on budget. Today, with son Rick Garrett and grandson Blake Haagen leading the company it is a leader in asphalt paving and maintenance in Northeast Georgia.
