In the late 1970’s and early 1980’s John Fetherolf built and remodeled custom homes. After struggling to find quality hardwood doors for his customers, he decided to start building his own style and rail doors. At first, doors were designed and built as needed for the current construction projects John was working on. Eventually, other contractors and homeowners were contacting him to build their doors. Thus a new enterprise was born and John started a shop dedicated to building quality, custom hardwood doors: Bent Nail Architectural Millwork

In 1992 John, along with his son and longtime apprentice David, officially founded Bent Nail Architectural Millwork in Lodi, Ohio. Boasting over 30 years of combined experience, we build doors for residential and commercial applications where the warmth and beauty of wood doors are desired.

And we build more than just doors. We create custom wooden entry doors, interior doors, moldings, louvered products, radius-top doors, windows, true divided lite windows and more. Additionally, we offer repair and restoration services and install everything we build. Our dedication to restoration services has led us to many historical sites and we've even received a historic preservation award from Cleveland Restoration Society.
