Anna Scott's Bio
Intelligent, Thoughtful, Personable
Anna Scott joined the Orr Builders team in December of 2008 and brought with her an array of talents that would help assist Brian Orr in ensuring his time is well managed between clients and project needs. As Executive Assistant (EA) to Brian, Anna can always be found on task and organized. Her motivation to get the job done creates a steady flow for Brian and the rest of the team to stay on task and complete their responsibilities in a timely manner.
Professional Experience
Anna came to Orr Builders with 22 years of experience in professional business. After college, with the knowledge of general business management, Anna found that she greatly enjoyed being the support and organizer behind a leader she believed in. In 1993 while working for the Phoenix Suns, NBA, she found herself part of the move and Grand Opening of the Phoenix Suns new America West Arena (now U.S. Airways Arena) and in 1998 she took part in the opening of the Bank One Ballpark (now Chase Field) for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Moving from one desert to another, Anna began the position as Executive Assistant to Brian Orr in 2008. As Brian’s EA, Anna is involved with each of the team’s projects from conception to completion. She completes and manages RFIs (Request For Information) and RFQs (Request For Qualifications) which are required to bid most projects, and prepares the Construction Contracts between Orr Builders and the Owner. Anna assists in coordinating the bank lender requirements in the preliminary development stages and financial closeout to get the project started. She is involved in the day-to-day operations along with the marketing side of the company and has assisted in the design and process of the website and brochures. She also prepares marketing packages to send to clients and financial organizations. Anna also enjoys creating the monthly Newsletter and getting the other Team members involved with it. On the job, you can always find Anna striving to further herself by learning something new and embracing the clients Orr Builders serves.
Personal Life
Anna is someone who believes that your true character is revealed most in your actions and conduct when you don’t think anyone is watching. She strives at all times to do her best in every situation that presents itself by her sense of humor and having a positive attitude. She finds strength in her family and faith in God.
Brian W. Orr's Bio
Visionary, Entrepreneur, Enthusiast
Holding over 3 decades of experience in the construction industry, Brian Orr runs one of the largest general contracting firms in the Coachella Valley, Orr Builders. His journey up to this point in his career has taken him through all the various trades of the industry, producing a man well-versed and capable to run a team carrying out a full range of professional construction services and design build projects. With an innovative approach to business, Brian has been set apart as a highly reputable builder, one which is committed to excellence in his work and character within his team.
Professional Experience
The early 90’s brought about Brian’s relocation to the Coachella Valley and with it, a General Contracting firm, Orr Builders. Since its conception in 1994, Orr Builders has come to be one of the most successful firms of its kind in the Coachella Valley. To date, Orr Builders has completed over 5 million square feet of commercial, industrial, retail and medical office space construction and this number only continues to grow. Orr Builders has served clientele such as the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, Rancho Mirage Health Science Building, University Commerce Center, and The Shops on El Paseo (Burberry, St. John, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Cosbar, Daily Grill, CPK).
The roots of a builder began to spout early in Brian's life. He can recall as a young boy being fascinated with creating houses using the most advanced building tools available - Lincoln Logs. In his teenage years, Brian took this early interest and invested it into jobs he could get on the weekends and during the summer. Coming into age, he recalls his passion growing as he served next to men on construction crews throughout the Southern California region. In the early 80's, Brian graduated with a degree in Construction Technology and Business and began with his brother, Orr Construction, an Orange County company offering residential and commercial construction services.
Personal Life
Brian Orr is not only an enthusiast in his work, but also with his family. His philosophy has always been to “work smart and stay focused on achieving your goals and dreams”. His family inspires him daily to live up to this philosophy and be the best he can be.

Carlos G. Gomez's Bio
Passionate, Persistent, Intelligent
Carlos G. Gomez re-joined the Orr Builders Team in October of 2017 bringing his wealth of experience as a Senior Estimator and Project Manager. He grew up in Mexico City where he earned his Baccalaureate Degree in Architecture in 1989, and a Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration in 1985. His parents encouraged his bilingual education that later gave him the opportunity to immigrate to the USA.
Professional Experience
Carlos worked two years for Watkins Landmark Construction as an Estimator, and participated in awarded projects for hotels, apartment complexes, retail stores and high-end tenant improvement projects. He worked for Orr Builders as an Estimator/Project Manager from 2007 to 2014. Carlos was also the Head Designer for Diamond Pools & Spas where he designed over 120 high-end residential exterior entertainment projects including pools, spas, hardscape and landscape in the Coachella Valley. While at the McDonald's Corporation he was a Project Manager/Design Consultant for four years and had participate at their 2000 Image Refresh Campaign. Carlos once owned his own business designing and building high-end residential homes.
Personal Life
Carlos and his wife Veronica reside in the Coachella Valley and both have a strong passion for music. They believe family is important and spend a lot of time with their three sons and one daughter. Other passions Carlos has are design, sketching, philosophy, auto racing, and hiking.
Dave Orr's Bio
Zealous, Professional, Experienced
David has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. He is affiliated with and a professional member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Geological Society of America and the Associated Engineering Geologists. David is the Co-founder and Owner of DVBE / SBE Corporation. He has Project Management skills of Public & Private Commercial Construction projects with experience in value engineering, site development, estimating, local and regional geology. His interpretative, historical and research skills along with his ability to solve complex problems makes David an asset to the Company.
Professional Experience
In the 80’s David and his brother, Brian began Orr Construction, an Orange County company offering residential and commercial construction services and then went on to be the Director of Operations for a vineyard development company in Napa and Lake Counties. David has project management experience in commercial construction overseeing many projects in San Diego and Los Angeles County such as County of San Diego General Services, Los Angeles Unified School District, City of San Diego Metropolitan Waste Water Department and managed and developed over 2,800 acres of a commercial agriculture operation facility, including construction of office building, multiple residences and equipment warehouse in Lake County, California.
David has been exposed to many facets of construction and, as Project Manager, understands the tribulations of a construction project if not carefully managed. His technical background experience has proven valuable to our clients by having the ability of working closely with architects, engineers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and over-site agencies to ensure clear communication during each phase of development. David is compassionate in providing the ultimate goals of quality for our clients, which reflects the best representation of Orr Builders’ finished products.
Personal Life
David instills the belief “If you have pride in your work, you have pride in yourself”.
David is driven in his career and by his family. In his free time, David can be found sailing on San Diego bay or participating in the annual Newport to Ensenada and San Diego to Ensenada sailboat races. David is very active with his two sons who race on the SoCal Mountain Bike Racing Team throughout California. David, his wife, and sons annually support by donating time and sponsor Childhelp which assist’s toward prevention and treatment of child abuse.
Israel Gamez's Bio
Persistent, Reliable, Intelligent
Israel Gamez joined the Orr Builders Team in April of 2019 as Estimator/Project Engineer. He was born in Puebla, Mexico and grew up in Wilmington, CA. He earned his AA Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design in 2014 and his Bachelorette Degree in Project Management / Business Administration in 2016. Israel is a dedicated Bilingual individual who enjoys being part of a winning team.
Professional Experience
Israel has acquired over 24 years of experience in the Construction Industry where he worked as a journeyman Plumber, Plumbing foremen and Plumbing Engineer. As a journeyman plumber he worked on both custom home and multi-family three-story apartment projects. He successfully completed a four year apprenticeship program and worked for well established companies such as: Pacific Production Plumbing, Saber Plumbing and 2020 Plumbing & Heating performing supervisory duties such Superintendent, Estimating and went as far as overseeing all shop operations as shop Manager. Israel has been exposed to all aspects of the projects from beginning to completion which makes him a well-rounded asset to the ORR Builders Team.
Personal Life
Israel is a family oriented person who has been married for 23 years. He, his wife and three children live in Hemet California and enjoy each of their children's personalities. He is a music aficionado who plays piano, guitar and bass guitar. His idea of a perfect day would be camping outdoors with his family making memories which last a life time.

Glenn Mathews's Bio

Glenn originally joined the Orr Builders team in 2003 as a Project Manager. He has rejoined the team in November of 2018 after spending time in San Francisco and Silicon Valley performing Program and Project Management. With over 34 years of experience in the industry, Glenn has gained valuable experience with numerous project types enabling him to successfully manage the diverse Orr Builders projects. Glenn excels in problem solving and team leadership.

In the beginning of his career in the building and development industry, Glenn served as Project Manager for a large variety of commercial and industrial projects, ground-up construction, and tenant improvements throughout Northern California. He takes pride in seeing a project go from conception to a successful completed and functioning building, facility or business. Glenn has built a portfolio of successful projects including: Rincon Center in San Francisco, CA; Time Warner Cable Office and Maintenance Facility in Indio, CA; and Costco Wholesale in La Quinta, CA.
Throughout his career, Glenn has proven himself time and again to be a man of ethics, dependability, and ingenuity. Some of his additional local projects include: Patios Plus in Rancho Mirage, Canyon National Bank in Palm Desert, Washington Plaza in La Quinta, and Hog's Breath Saloon and Main Street Grill in La Quinta. Some of the projects Glenn has worked on throughout the Southern California region include: Google Offices in Irvine, Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, Southern California Edison Office, Data Center and Substation projects.

Steven M. Vance's Bio

Steven Vance joined the Orr Builders team May of 2003 as a Project Manager. Now with over 32 years of experience in the industry, Steven plays an integral role over-seeing the diverse Orr Builders projects come to completion. Noted for his eagerness to always go the extra mile, Steven excels in meeting and even exceeding his clients’ schedules and budgets.

In the beginning of his career in the building and development industry, Steven served as Project Manager and Superintendent for a large variety of commercial and industrial projects, ground-up construction, and tenant improvements throughout Southern California. It was here that he found a passion in seeing a project go from conception to a completed and functioning building, facility or business. Steven spent 25 years building a portfolio of successful projects including: Embassy Suites Hotel in Anaheim, CA; Fuji Natural Foods in Ontario, CA; and Fountain Valley Hospital Intensive Care Nursery in Fountain Valley, CA.
Since joining Orr Builders in 2003, Steven has proven himself time and again to be a man of quality, dependability, and integrity. He has served on a great variety of projects and finds himself enjoying the passion of creation with each new beginning. Some of his projects include: MSA Consulting, Inc. in Rancho Mirage, The Colonnade in Palm Desert, El Paseo Collections in Palm Desert, and Desert Commercial Bank in Indian Wells. Some of the projects Steven has worked on throughout the Southern California region include: Embassy Suites, Marriott, and Hilton hotels plus reputable companies, such as, Oscar Mayer, Louisville Slugger, UBS Financial Services and mini-storage facilities.

Steven believes in always taking pride in what he does and carrying out his life with a high degree of character. He enjoys strong family values and spending time with his wife, three children and grandson. In his free time you can find Steven spending time in the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowboarding and water skiing.

Scott Werry's Bio
Friendly, Patient, Funny
Scott Werry holds the position of Business Development for Orr Builders. This means over-seeing development pre-planning and developer services by working closely with the City and Government agencies to ensure that proper permitting and plan check procedures are adhered to. He is involved in Sales and Marketing and is always thinking about generating new business relationships with potential clients by introducing them to Orr Builders and the many facets of our organization. He also handles Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction. Scott is known for his friendly demeanor and humor that never fails to get a laugh. With a knack for client relations, Scott has been a great asset to the Orr Builders team for the past five years.
Professional Experience
After graduating with a Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial Technology from San Jose State University, Scott joined Rockwell Automation, a company specializing in industrial automation control and information solutions. Working for Rockwell for 17 years, Scott held several inside, outside and management sales positions, gaining valuable knowledge and experience in the sales and development field.
In 2005, Scott joined Orr Builders. In his position of Business Development, Scott is responsible for customer relations, sales, and project support. Preparation and communication are two vital skills Scott employs as he coordinates various projects and work flow. He enjoys the challenge and variety that each new day has to offer and you can always find Scott willing and ready to pull up his sleeves to take on a new task.
Personal Life
Scott is a man of eagerness both in and out of the office. He believes strongly in treating others the way you want to be treated and boasts to be proud of each member of his family on a daily basis. In his free time, Scott enjoys golfing, cycling, home improvement, and food and wine. As a cyclist, Scott has completed the tour of the California Alps, "The Death Ride", a 143-mile ride through five mountain passes and over 15,000 feet of elevation.

Lew E. Piper's Bio

Lew E. Piper joined ORR Builders in January of 2020, as Director of Finance. Lew has brought a wealth of financial knowledge to ORR Builders in construction management and also in creating operational efficiencies based on over 15 years in the construction trade senior management. His background in Public Accounting & Auditing along with internal control and systems development laid the foundation for his success in construction company management. He has the skills necessary to lead business expansion while also maintaining positive vendor and customer relations. Lew is very people oriented and enjoys developing people and processes to help them and the organization grow and flourish. He is articulate and is capable of building and implementing system oversight and accountability.
Personal Experience
Lew graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, with a Major in Accounting. He joined the Public Accounting firm of Price Waterhouse where he trained and developed Auditing and Financial Reporting skills working on many large national companies. Lew eventually relocated to the Coachella Valley where he worked at large local CPA firms which led to him ultimately establishing his own certified public accounting practice. His diverse client base needed assistance with not only financial statement reporting for compliance, but also operational management, team building, budgeting, job costing, strategic expansion planning, and staff development. Lew’s experiences in providing these services eventually led him into Senior Construction Company Management. He really enjoys all of the challenges that the dynamic and evolving construction industry provides.
Personal Life
Lew spends all of his available time with his family. They attend all of each other’s sporting events and competitions throughout Southern California and beyond. They camp throughout each summer at Big Bear Lake, CA, and they visit the extended family on Florida’s Gulf Coast as often as possible.
