Homes by John McKenzie

Jim has worked in the custom home building industry for 27 years. In 1984, he graduated with a B.S. in Engineering from Purdue University before going on to earn his MBA in 1990 from the University of Chicago. Jim enjoys the diversity of the people involved in the homebuilding business and the evolving challenges that come with the field. In his free time, Jim can be found skiing or golfing and is active in the Carmel Young Life ministry. He and his wife Sarah have three daughters.

John has dedicated 27 years to the custom home building industry. He earned his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University before founding Homes by McKenzie in 1993. He enjoys seeing clients’ dream homes become a reality, and he takes great satisfaction in a job well done. He serves as a partner in the Jubilee Village Project in Kenya and as a YoungLife volunteer at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School. When he’s not working, John likes to spend time with his wife and two daughters, cheer on the Colts and Boilermakers, and stay active. In 2013, he successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

Todd has a passion for art and design with a background and degree in Architectural Technology.

His experience over three decades includes a broad array of construction projects, including the development of new residential communities across the Midwest and East Coast.

Todd spent 15 of those years working on various home building software systems as well as working as a consultant in the construction software industry.

He is a member of The Congress for the New Urbanism, The Institute of Classical Architecture, and The National Association of Home Builders.

A graduate of Indiana University, Brian has nearly three decades of residential and commercial construction experience with Estridge Homes, Lakeside Village of Byron, JRF Construction, and now McKenzie. He and his wife Alison have six children, and their family enjoys going to games and meets to support the kids’ sports teams.

Dave has been in the building industry for 20 years with experience in residential, multifamily, and light commercial construction. He is a Purdue University graduate, with a degree in building construction technology and management. Outside of work, he enjoys muskie fishing, outdoor activities, and 18th century period furniture making. In fact, he’s a Board Member for the Society of Period Furniture Makers, (SAPFM).

After 30 years of owning and operating a window replacement business, Don joined the McKenzie team. He enjoys getting acquainted with and helping homeowners build their ‘forever’ home while bringing his high standards to the job site. Outside of work, Don enjoys hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Max has 19 years of experience as a framer, carpenter, and assistant supervisor. His ability to assess the client’s goals and the construction needs help McKenzie create the ideal experience. Outside of work, Max enjoys being active in his church, playing soccer, and sharing time with family.

Steve has been an assistant project manager with McKenzie Collection since March of 2018. He’s been in the construction industry for about a decade, spending a majority of the time in the industry as an electrician. When Steve is not at work he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys racing and riding ATVS.

Born in Texas and raised in Indiana, Steve has more than 15 years of construction experience, and he especially likes to talk about the five years he worked for Jim Irsay. In his spare time, Steve enjoys racing R/C cars at a professional level.

Marcia brings many years of experience in home sales to the McKenzie team. She credits the joy of establishing relationships with her buyers as the chief reason she enjoys being a new homes sales consultant.
