Our Story

R. G. Bortz Construction Co., Inc. was established in 1984, when the current president, Ronald G. Bortz, bought out Horning Construction. At this time the company was completing subcontracting work for the framing and trimming phases of building construction; much the same kind of work the company does to this present day. In the mid 80's, the residential construction the company was involved in was a larger portion of its' work than it is today. A significant percentage of the company's work consisted of townhouse construction. Even from the beginning years of the company, jobs such as retirement homes, with 300 plus units and additional buildings, were constructed by the company. R. G. Bortz Construction Co., Inc. has consistently employed between 18-40 people from 1984 to this day. Until the early 90's, Ron and Alice Bortz completed much of the administrative duties of the company. Today, several employees assist in the management of the company. Through the years, the company increased its participation in commercial projects and established relationships with many contractors in the area, working its way to where it is today; one of the top framing and trimming subcontractors in the area.
