Our Story

At McDonald Excavating, Inc., no job is too large or too small for us to handle. We have a wide range of clientele, including government agencies, large commercial development companies, other contractors, and private landowners. With state-of-the-art equipment and some of the most knowledgeable people in the business, we have the right tools for every job. We are proud of the work we have done in Southwestern Washington and the Portland Metropolitan Area and are happy to supply references upon request.

McDonald Excavating, Inc. was founded by Mike McDonald in 1980 as a demolition and excavation firm in Washougal, Washington. Since then, our company has distinguished itself as one of the area's most capable excavation and site development contractors. We specialize in site work, including earthwork, grading, and underground utilities, for residential subdivision development as well as for large commercial building projects.  

McDonald Excavating, Inc. is a certified DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) and MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) in several different SIC, NAICS, and NIGP classifications, which include both our construction operations as well as our machine and job shop. With the addition of key personnel who have experience in projects ranging from $2,000 to over $20 million, and everything in between, we have the capability to provide an even wider array of services. With our combined years of service in many geographic areas, conditions, and situations, you can be assured of a finished project that in every way shows professional results. Time is money.
