Our Story

Who We Are

The Shirk Excavating name was established in 1988, with the current owners taking it over in July of 2006.  Shirk Excavating is a well known name in the area, due to our vision of providing quality work at competitive prices, with a commitment to seeing the job through in a way that leaves our customers fully satisfied.  Our goal is to maintain an honest, hardworking, dependable work force, which translates into satisfaction at every level, from the initial estimate request, until the final exit from a completed project.  Licensed and insured.

What We Do

We provide excavation services for any situation, from hand digging for post holes, to site clearing and development for new housing, and anything in between.  We specialize mostly in light commercial projects, such as doctor's offices, township buildings, school additions, manufacturing facility buildings, etc, but also will work on residential projects like new homes and additions. Our area of expertise includes trenching for water, sewer, and communications/electric lines, septic system installations, sewer line installation, storm sewer installations, underground detention systems, E&S controls, foundation excavation, and many more too numerous to mention!  No job too small!  If we can't perform a certain aspect of the project such as paving or water line installation, we will choose a qualified subcontractor form our large network of dependable firms. We mostly work as a sub-contractor on larger projects, but have done quite abit of work directly for a homeowner or site developer.
