Michael Musa's Bio
Michael Musa is an entrepreneur with over 25 years of executive leadership and management experience in environmental consulting, hospitality, communications, design-build/development, and sustainability. Michael has deep rooted expertise in community and property development and has been successful in raising capital and securing financing for multiple mid-size large projects. A key focus has been evaluating and commercializing new and emerging environmental technologies that promote sustainability in critical areas of water and wastewater treatment, solar waste to energy, and cutting edge desalination technologies.
Michael maintains an equity ownership interest in multiple companies spanning in a wide range of industries; however, his primary focus has always been to grow Environmental Protection Industries (EPI) and its real estate development arm that has since completed dozens of successful projects. In 1993 after becoming its CEO, Michael grew EPI into a full service environmental consulting and remediation firm by expanding the remediation services division and retaining a uniquely talented team to implement cutting edge in-situ remediation technologies.
Seizing on opportunity in 2005, Michael engaged with key international and green technology companies to license and commercialize emerging environmental technologies. Michael continued to drive growth at EPI with the acquisition of Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing in 2006. EPI International was launched in 2009, with a focus on sustained community and international development in the US and abroad.
Michael and EPI have been involved in many successful development projects including shopping centers, strip malls, office buildings, industrial properties, schools, fire departments, condominiums, and multi-family residential communities. His experience and longevity in the industry has built lasting client relationships, strong partnerships, and new business clients. Michael has been steadfast in maintaining these relationships even during several economic down turns. Michael’s business practices are centered on the principle of hard work, integrity, assuring high quality work product with an unrelenting commitment to customer satisfaction. Michael has also repeatedly demonstrated the ability to make positive social and economic contributions to many communities.
Since 2014, Michael has continued to grow EPI by responding to the needs of his clients and the complex task of developing and managing contaminated sites with excess construction soils that do not meet “Clean Fill Standards”. EPI’s construction services now include Full Site Work and “Site Packaging” for redevelopment and new construction. “Site Packaging” includes all of the requisite site work for a particular project with the engineering and environmental components needed to successfully assure that impacted soil and fill are managed correctly, engineered barriers are installed, and there are no avoidable construction delays from environmental- issues pertaining to property. This capability leaves little to no guessing with respect to the management of Clean Construction and Demolition Debris (CCDD), special waste soils, installation of engineered barriers and institutional or building controls. Michael and EPI have successfully demonstrated that proper Soil Management during the initial phase of construction can reduce the overall cost of development significantly before the project goes vertical.
In order to stay at the forefront of the industry, Michael keeps up-to-date with current market trends, environmental regulations, and new technologies. He has accomplished this by building a highly capable experienced management staff, which ensures efficient project management, continued research to remain current with emerging technologies and new environmental regulations, and a network of US and International Firms.
