In 1981 Fred Hoehn incorporated Able Rolling Steel Door. The company was founded on the principle that, hard work and owner involvement were paramount to success. In 1999 Fred sold Able Rolling Steel Door to its current owners, Chris Hoehn and Michael Perrucci. 

As owners, Michael and Chris have continued to be involved in every facet of the business. They take projects from design, to estimate, to submission, to fabrication. They field verify conditions and work directly with superintendents, engineers and labor.

This work ethic and dedication have made Able Rolling Steel Door the choice for many small boutique and highly visible organizations. Able has supplied specialized security solutions to some of 5th. Avenue’s most discerning owners while maintaining a strong reputation with large organizations like the Continental Airlines, Kraft Foods, Port Authority and the MTA.

Owner involvement has been an asset to most of the New York metropolitan area’s general contracting and construction management firms. Able has successfully completed projects for Tishman, Turner Construction, Structure Tone, Hunter Roberts, VRH, Terminal Construction, Prismatic Development, Skanska USA, T. Moriarty, Holt Construction, Hunt Construction and Plaza Construction…amongst others.

When a general contractor is building a project the last thing they want to worry about are the overhead doors or loading dock equipment. Mike and Chris understand that, and go to great lengths to keep submittals accurate and maintain an understanding of the project’s schedule. Their goal is to function as a resource to your engineering team.

Able’s team has worked very hard, and filled out miles of paperwork, to be approved to work for…Con Ed, Port Authority, New York SCA, DASNY, NY Housing Authority, The Bridge/Tunnel Authority, NJ Public Works, NY Parks Department.

We maintain strong relationships with all local Ironworker halls to provide our customers with both UNION and NON-UNION crews.

All Able personnel are OSHA 10 trained.

We are Green Building Certified.
