In 1901 A.W. Meyer opened directly across the street from our present location at 509 Broad Avenue in Ridgefield, New Jersey.  The original location displays “The Meyer Building” etched in the stone about the entrance.  Always a family business A.W. Meyer Hardware, as we were known then was under the proprietorship of Gustav Meyer. In 1931 Adolph Wolfgang Meyer, son of Gustav, took over the store. The hardware store headed in a new direction in 1958 when James Hascup Sr. joined the company. Jim Sr.’s background was in Mill Supplies.  The company began putting more emphasis into Power Tools and Industrial Supplies.  Inside Telephone Sales and an Outside Sales Team opened a new venue for A.W. Meyer.  

Our present image is quite different fro the original “Hardware” store.  Now focusing on the Contracting Trades, our retail store staff has the knowledge and experience to answer your questions and the resources to fill your orders.  A.W. Meyer stocks the Full Lines of all the major power tool manufacturers.  Our telephone staff is ready to assist, in case 
can’t come in to our show room.  Our delivery fleet covers the tri-state area daily.  In addition our outside sales team services jobsite's throughout NJ, NY, PA and CT.  Let’s just say we’ve got it covered! 

A.W. Meyer is the home of OcTOOLberfest; this will be our 30th year!  This annual event has become an Industry Tradition, according to vendors, it is said to be “the best selling show in the business”.  There are over 75 manufacturers, demonstrating their products and introducing their newest items.  OcTOOLberfest is NJ’s largest Tool Event.  Three days of fun and great values for everyone, you’ve got to see it to believe it.
