AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, Vice President Chief of Design founded Gangi Architects in 1990. He designs and constructs buildings for the late 21st century, from zero energy houses to LEED Platinum museums.
Mark serves on the Architectural Evaluation Board (AEB) for the County of Los Angeles, which assists in fair and consistent architect/engineering firm selection for numerous Capital Projects. He was the 2009 President of AIA Pasadena Foothill Chapter, and remains an active member to this day. His vision is to reeducate the membership in sustainability and ecological literacy through his ‘No Architect Left Behind’ initiative, as well as transform the organization through service to the under-served portions of the Chapter area.
Mark was recently appointed the California Director of Water Resources for AIA California Council. He received his Bachelors of Architecture from the USC School of Architecture in 1990 where he has taught as a guest lecturer for two years. He was involved as the school implemented its commitment to the 2010 challenge and integrated sustainability into all of its coursework. Mark served his internship with his professor Panos Koulermos, FAIA and participated in the Venice Biennale, as well as Architectural monographs, and a survey of European Rationalism.
