Founded in the District 1987, Capitol Paving of D.C., Inc. is a leading Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) union contractor performing a wide range of street and highway construction services.  Our company serves local, state and federal government agencies in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland.  Capitol Paving also serves private clients in the commercial sector.  Our expertise within street and highway construction industry includes the capabilities to self-perform the following services: roadway paving (concrete/asphalt/brick), sidewalk, curb and gutter, line striping, grading, LID (Low Impact Development) bioretention cells, porous sidewalk, site work and snow removal services.  Capitol Paving also has the resources and expertise to perform the following utility work:  electrical duct bank installation, electrical manhole installation, conduit installation, traffic signal foundations, watermain installation, large water valve installation, lead service replacement, storm and sanitary sewer installation, trenching and utility excavation.  Serving as a prime contractor, Capitol Paving has established relationships with numerous qualified subcontractors and has overseen construction in projects involving electrical wiring, traffic signal & cabinet installation, light track installation and other specialty services.  In the capacity of prime contractor, Capitol Paving has completed several projects exceeding $50 million dollars.  Defining projects include the Reconstruction of H Street and Benning Road (reintroducing the trolley system to the District), the Historic Restoration of O&P Streets NW, the Reconstruction of Columbus Plaza (improved access and circulation patterns in front of Union Station), and various citywide watermain / alley and pavement contracts.  Capitol Paving primarily serves as a prime contractor, however, we have also successfully performed many projects as a subcontractor.  As we continue to build a successful portfolio in the construction Industry, Capitol Paving remains focused on the fundamentals of client service, construction safety, and superior collaboration.
