Plainfield Charter Township asked Grand River Construction to serve as general contractor for its Control Valve Station, a new building designed to house a critical link tying an existing high-pressure service area to a lower pressure service area. The building would provide a needed upgrade to regulate the service of an adjacent exclusive neighborhood. The challenge was the location: an undisturbed native forested slope. Grand River Construction responded with extensive earth retention and careful coordination of work to minimize disruption of the area. The new facility not only linked the two service areas, but the landscaping and other measures ensured the new construction would acclimate with the surrounding area.
