Our Story

AMTEK Construction is a family run business that was started by Steven Sayce in 1983. AMTEK started out as a concrete and paving company.   We continue to do this work to this day with Steven Sayce,  the owner, and licensed civil engineer,  in charge of this division.  We have expanded over the years,  however,  as estimators/project managers have come to us looking for a company they can have confidence working for.   Steven Hunter, an electrician and expert in the construction of compressed natural gas facilities with 20+ years experience,  heads up the CNG division.  Customers include So Cal Gas and Trillium,  a major gas retailer.  Eric Tillotson runs the hospital electrical division.  He has a crew working 52 weeks a year at  Cedars Sinai and other hospitals.  Alan Sayce and Mike Petty run the general electrical division.  Customers include University of CA Irvine and various school districts.

What is our advantage?

  • Our main advantage is that our owner and project managers are experts in what they do.  We will bid your job competitively,  then plan and execute it so that the customer is provided a high-quality product in a timely manner.
  • Our second advantage is that we perform many functions in house.  On a typical CNG project, we self preform: the Demo, Excavation and Grading, Concrete,  Electrical, and Gas Piping.  We often bid jobs with Fencing being the only outside sub we will use.
