Our Story

In 1995, W. Curtis Maloney and Glenn Sweesy formed W.C. Maloney, Inc. For 20 years prior, Curt and Glenn had worked, both independently and as a team, within the demolition industry as operators, project managers, estimators, and owners. Initially, W.C. Maloney's main focus was on Public Works projects, specializing in bridge demolition along California's developing highway system. Since that time, W.C. Maloney has expanded its capabilities to include a full complement of demolition and site-clearing services.

In 2004, the company expanded its saw-cutting and core-drilling capability with the merger of Bell Concrete Cutting into W.C. Maloney. Dan Bell, owner of Bell Concrete Cutting, joined W.C. Maloney as an Estimator concentrating on soft demolition and concrete cutting projects.

The company's technical expertise was further developed when Rob Kay, a certified Civil Engineer, joined the team in 2006. Rob brings a wealth of experience in road and bridge work.

Today, with over 60 years combined experience, the Estimators and Managers of W.C. Maloney provide a level of expertise unsurpassed by any firm based in northern California. W.C. Maloney handles the most difficult and complex demolition projects, from dismantling an overpass without disrupting the morning rush hour to wrecking a 5-story office complex at half the engineer's original cost estimate. W.C. Maloney is skilled at meeting the exacting specifications of public sector customers at the State, County and City levels, as well as military installations.

W.C. Maloney holds a State of California "A" license as a General Contractor, as well as a "C-21" license as a demolition contractor. We control our own workforce and own most of our own equipment, so we can respond to your needs promptly and efficiently. With over 2-dozen highly trained union Operating Engineers and Laborers, W.C. Maloney has the resources to provide a full complement of demolition and related services. W.C. Maloney is ready, willing, and able to handle a wide variety of demolition, site-clearing, and excavation needs.

In an age of environmental awareness, W.C. Maloney is proud to be a leader among wrecking firms in recycling and recovery. By maximizing the volume of materials that are recycled, W.C. Maloney not only reduces the amount dumped in area landfills, but also minimizes the project fees related to hauling and disposing of debris. For example, on bridge demolition projects, typically 99+% of the debris is recycled. W.C. Maloneyregularly submits concrete to be converted into crushed aggregate and recycles wood, steel, and other components wherever feasible.
