Scope Of Work
The Navy Lodge project included the design and construction of a new four-story building and a new one-story maintenance support building adjacent to the existing two-story Navy Lodge. The main building is 146,479 square feet with 205 rooms, made up of 12 different room types so they can accommodate a variety of guests. The RQ Team used an integrated design-build approach to effectively coordinate the demolition of a part of the existing Navy Lodge and construction of the new lodge, parking lot, and temporary lobby that was intended to be re-purposed into the maintenance support building with minimal impact to the operations and guest experience.
To maximize quality lodging, the site includes a pool, water splash pad with jets, children’s play structure (water bucket cluster, water jewel, single stream jet, ground funnel, fan spray) and a 2,730 square foot roof deck with stunning ocean views and a screening wall with AV hookups for movie viewing. The exterior character of the new lodge reflects the Spanish/Mediterranean style of the existing adjacent lodge and provides a grand sense of arrival for visitors with a porte-cochere and fountain at the entry.
