One key area of Max Construction’s expertise lies in fast-paced major remodel and roll-out projects that are performed while the stores remain open. There is an experienced team, comprised of project managers, superintendents and subcontractors, which completes these types of projects quickly and cost effectively.  Our start-up staff takes great pride in getting the “prep work” done correctly and communicated to the superintendent.  They work closely with operations in order to manage a 24 hour per day schedule, if required, with minimal disruption to operations. Many of these have been performed while doing multiple stores concurrently, completing them in record time resulting in unsurpassed customer satisfaction

HISTORY OF ORGANIZATION

Max Construction Company has been and continues to be a family owned business since it was started by William Maxwell in 1956. David J. Maxwell became the Chief Executive Officer and owner in 1995 when the firm became incorporated. As such he has overseen the continued growth and development of this organization to the present time. This growth has resulted in annual gross construction revenues increasing from $20 million to over $43 million in the last seven years.

In addition to his duties as CEO, David continues to operate as a Project Manager and he works personally with the clientele to provide expedited scheduling concepts as well as value engineering expertise into the budget while being able to maintain the architect’s design concepts. David’s daughter, Melissa Kawai, joined the company in 2010 as the Vice President.

EXPERIENCE

The organization’s past work experience has covered a multitude of trade categories such as site excavation and utilities; rough, finish and general carpentry; drywall; and acoustical ceilings. The company also owns and operates a custom wood/casework manufacturing facility. Through ownership of this facility, DJM Builders is able to provide a wide range of casework, laminates, Corian, millwork, and custom wood products, which complement the finished product.

Throughout the years of self-performing the work listed above, Max has also developed a vast network of qualified Subcontractors, as well as the “hands-on” knowledge and experience to effectively manage the construction team. All coordination, day by day direction, quality control and overall management of the entire project is by Max Construction. All of the Project Managers and Field Superintendents are OSHA Certified. Over the years, this management system has been used by the company to produce quality products for all of their clients.

Through working with their national account clientele, Max personnel are familiar with the corporate branding concepts employed by most if not all international corporations. Coordination with these various “branding” vendors is just another way Max provides expert customer service to each and every client.
