Our Story

Turner Murphy Company is a Utility Contractor specializing in building water and waste water treatment plants across the southeast. We have successfully completed over 125 major treatment plants and upgrades. We self perform an average of 80% of all work in place. Our project range is from $100,000 to $25,000,000.  We are currently licensed in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

We built our first waste water treatment plant in 1971, and our primary focus has been in water and wastewater treatment construction since 1975.  We have steadily grown with the rising demand for cleaner water and environmental concerns for effluent water.  We take great pride in building utility infrastructure that will last for decades.

Turner Murphy Company is dedicated to Safety, Quality, and Value.  We believe that it takes a team to make a project successful.  We offer an experienced team of superintendents and project managers, with a history of quality work here at Turner Murphy Company.  We also take the necessary steps to ensure that the Owners, Engineers, Subcontractors, and Suppliers are all on the same team.

Founded in 1950 by Turner Murphy, the company was originally located in North Augusta, South Carolina.  In 1984, the company headquarters was moved to its current city of Rock Hill, South Carolina.   In November 2006, we moved into new facilities to accommodate our growth.  Our new office space is around 4,500 square feet, and is located on over 10 acres of land.  We are now able to house our equipment and materials on site.  The company remains in the Murphy family, with Turner's son, Mike Murphy, as the current president.
