Built in 1939, this property boasted one of the last active backyard chicken coops in Raleigh until the recent, scattered resurgence. Not only did the backyard feature a chicken coop but a tennis court as well! The property had been vacant for a number of years when renovation started in 1992. Many original features of the property were maintained, including the beautiful parquet flooring and the heart-of-pine paneling in the den. The backyard still has the chicken coop, although today it works nicely as outdoor storage.
