Challenge
Keeping businesses spotless is Crown’s goal. With 85% of their energy expended on laundry processing, Crown identified the opportunity to increase their competitive advantage by centralizing operations, controlling costs and using design build to customize a green facility. Characterized by extremely hard-working and long-term employees, they desired a showcase state-of-the-art facility.
Design Build Value
Dacon constructed a 94,000 build-to-suit facility encompassing offices, wet laundry and dry side space with 25 loading docks. A 20,000 gallon rainwater harvesting system recycles 13MM gallons of water annually. The result – productivity grew 125% with $6MM saved annually in operating costs due to water recycling. Energy remodeling reduces CO2 emissions by 1.3MM lbs per year with solar panels generating 30% of the firm’s electric power resulting in a 20% energy reduction beyond IECC requirements. This energy remodeling generates a rebate greater than $200K. Crown currently ranks in the top 1% nationally for the cleaning service sector.
