Walter Parks Architect, PLLC was started in 1993 in Richmond, Virginia. The practice provides unique and creative architectural design services to a select group of private individuals, developers, and State institutions.
The practice has grown from its origins of a two-person office to its current staff of fifteen, eight of which are registered architects. The focus of the firm is the rebuilding of urban centers. Creating buildings that move our cities forward architecturally while helping to provide the cultural amenities that make our cities thrive. The practice believes that energy efficiency and environmentally friendly design are important components for Architecture today.
The firm has extensive experience in residential and mixed-use construction for both adaptive reuse and new construction projects. Many of these projects have involved the use of low income tax credits through VHDA or been insured through HUD. We also have extensive experience with Historic Tax credits. Working with the
Department of the Interior and the local SHPO we have completed over 100 projects in three states.
Although, primarily based in Richmond, projects extend throughout Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and Oklahoma. Projects range in size small “infill” houses in historic neighborhoods to the renovation of entire city blocks.
