Our Story

As a young sheet metal worker in the 1960s, Clay Dunn found that there was a niche in the HVAC industry that he could fill. He realized that although the industry had many HVAC providers, the customers were continually dissatisfied with the quality and value of the products and services they were receiving.

The success of Air-Tec is based on Mr. Dunn's clear and concise principal of standing by his work and providing excellent products and service with exceptional performance. His commitment to provide his customers with a product and service backed by integrity has held fast in the increasingly competitive HVAC industry.

Founded in 1969 from his home in Manhattan Beach, California, Air-Tec quickly became a competitive force in the HVAC industry. In 1972, a small industrial space was rented in Carson California to accommodate Mr. Dunn, one other project manager, a few administrative assistants and a fabrication shop.

In 1982, Air-Tec acquired the property that now serves as our headquarters.

One man's vision of offering service based on pride in quality work and the ability to perform this work in the most efficient way possible has grown into a company of over one hundred people who are committed to these goals.

Today, over forty years later, Clay Dunn remains the President and CEO of Air-Tec. He continues to dedicate himself to maintaining the standards on which the company was founded.
