Our Story

Matson Alarm is a local & trusted security company. We create custom-tailored solutions for each project that are as unique as our customers. Matson Alarm is now proudly a part of Pye-Barker Fire & Safety - this means we can serve our customers on projects throughout California and nation-wide.

We’ve achieved a lot at Matson Alarm over the last 40+ years.

Matson Alarm Company was founded in 1974 by Larry and Mike Matson. The brothers noticed that while Fresno businesses had the option to install alarm systems and protect their employees and investments, families in the area did not have this same opportunity. They started Matson Alarm to protect valley families and homes that were left vulnerable by this gap in the security industry. In 2022 Larry & Mike retired and entrusted Pye-Barker with the legacy of Matson Alarm.

Matson Alarm provides key advantages over the competition:

  • We are local to the Central Valley & operated by long-standing local employees
  • Our team understands the unique security needs of valley businesses and residents
  • We offer exceptional customer service
  • Your security system is monitored 24/7 by a triple-redundant & professionally accredited monitoring center

We’ve made lots of changes in our 40+ years, but the key advantages our customer recognize and expect have remained the same.

Today Our Customers Can Depend on Matson Alarm to Provide:

  • Trained and professional technicians who can install fire alarm systems & security systems correctly and efficiently
  • Dispatchers who carefully monitor their account 24 hours a day
  • Knowledgeable service professionals who are able to help answer any questions or concerns

We’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings installing residential alarm systems in Fresno.  Today we offer a variety of security products and services, including fire alarm systems, security alarms, access control systems, cameras, IT/networking services, automation systems and more, to provide protection for businesses and families throughout the greater central valley.  Thanks for checking us out; we hope to provide you with a unique solution for your life safety & security situation.
