Scope Of Work

This award winning project included the design and phased construction of a 51,000 SF US Army CH-47 Aircraft Maintenance building with 500,000 SF of concrete airfield pavement, as well as hazardous material abatement (Lead, Asbestos and PCB) and demolition of numerous off site buildings and structures.  The hangar bay area can house four CH-47 Chinook helicopters, while the adjacent core area includes supporting shop, supply and administration spaces.  The facility includes classrooms, training areas, conference/meeting areas, equipment and vehicle maintenance areas, rotary wing aircraft maintenance bays, administrative offices, administrative support areas/offices, maintenance command administrative offices, equipment and tool storage areas, equipment and tool distribution center, arms storage areas, outdoor break areas, and shop areas.  The project achieved Certifiable LEED Silver status.

The project scope of work consisted of:  demolition of structures and site appurtenances,  extensive earthwork, drilled piers, site utilities, cast-in-place concrete, extensive concrete aircraft parking apron with anchor points and grounding system, extensive asphalt pavement, a high capacity cast-in-place oil/water separator, a multilevel pre-engineered metal building system, multilevel structural steel support structure, structural and non-structural masonry, light gauge and structural metal framing, acoustical ceilings, architectural finishes, firestopping joint sealants, compressed air service, specialized aircraft electrical service, stainless steel aircraft maintenance shop furnishings, specialized shop and equipment exhaust systems, fully tested building envelope/air barrier, wet pipe fire suppression system, AFFF fire suppression system, bridge crane, cathodic protection systems, an automated meter reading system (EMCS), a mass notification system, DDC system and an MEP system.
