Ron was born in Brainerd, went to grade school at St. Francis then attended Franklin Jr high school then moved to Staples where he attended Staples High School. After graduating high school, Ron attended Staples Vocational Technical College where he received diplomas for both Tool and Die and also Plastic Mold injection.
Ron is married to his wonderful wife Rhonda and has two daughters; Rachel and Angie and a step son Rory.
Ron worked for Federal Machining Company for a short time. He then went to work for Industrial Builders (milling), in the winter worked for a logging company and also tended bar for a few winters. In 1982 Ron was hired at Anderson Brothers Construction started on the crushing plant running samples, cleaning around plant and belts with a shovel (no skiddy back then). From there he learned to run crusher and eventually started to manage all crushing subcontractors and helped Anderson Brothers get into the Quality Control era of Asphalt. Ron did testing of Aggregates and Asphalt for few years than went on to become Aggregate Manager, responsible for all aggregates and quality control of asphalt product, while at the same time doing research and testing for aggregates all over Minnesota and some of North Dakota. Ron ran the drill truck and small backhoe looking for future aggregate reserves, helped with the purchasing of property with aggregates, managing aggregate reserves buy sell and trade, also doing permitting for aggregate sites and asphalt sites Conditional Use Permitting throughout Minnesota.
Any chance Ron gets, you can find him on the water fishing. He's been President of Northerns Incorporated. He also enjoys hunting for deer with a rifle or muzzle loader; anything that gets him into the great outdoors. Ron has been a board member of MDHA for 13 years.
