Scope Of Work
American Constructors, Inc was selected in 2017 as the General Contractor for the initial Phase of the Jessie Ball duPont Library – Learning Commons renovation. The renovation was the Library’s first since it opened in April 1965. Asbestos abatement and demolition had to be completed prior to the initial renovation. Interior work included reconfiguring existing study rooms, the addition of a new café, and the complete restoration of the existing Library. Plaster repair, refinishing of all interior woodwork, new paint, flooring, new slat scored acoustical ceilings, updated HVAC and new lighting with updated controls. Water infiltration was observed after demolition along the exterior façade of the building. After the restoration of the exterior stone , a water repellant was applied to protect the building from additional water infiltration. All work was completed within 2-1/2 months over summer break for the University
