Experienced in the analysis, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of campus central utility plant and building mechanical systems.  Work includes documenting existing conditions, performing forensic analysis of equipment failures, preparing reports for potential system improvements, and preparing conceptual designs with estimated costs.  After selection of an option by the client, I prepare the construction documents.  After award of the construction contract by the client, I act as the owner’s technical representative, approving submittals, monitoring work in progress, inspecting the construction in-progress, and coordinating technical aspects of the project. 

Work with building operations and maintenance staff to ensure the proper performance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems.

Review designs prepared by others to ensure constructability, maintainability, and compliance with good standards and practices.

Systems include boilers (steam and high-temperature hot water), chillers, cooling towers, cogeneration plants (reciprocating engine and gas turbine), pumps, air-handling systems, and plumbing systems.

Sites have included offices, data centers, document archives, microbiology research laboratories, vivariums, industrial facilities, and campus-wide utility systems.

Buzz founded Keel’s Landing, LLC to combine his passion for water and energy with his passion for military health care and national research. This important government work requires careful and consistent water treatment consulting services, and Buzz found his work at these institutions most rewarding as they provide critical medical and rehabilitation services to military servicemen in active duty and veterans.
