Scope Of Work
Highwoods Properties is a fully integrated real estate investment trust providing leasing, management, development and construction services for their properties and third parties. Highwoods Properties contracted with Evans to provide comprehensive pre-construction & construction services for a 130 acre site development package including the construction of the Beverage House Food Facility in Atlanta, Georgia.
Evans scope included site clearing and mass grading of approximately 110 acres along with all associated infrastructure & utilities needed for the development of future building pads. Evans also the construction of the first building on this site, a 210,000 SF brewing operations facility. The building is constructed of a conventional concrete tilt wall exterior with a structural steel & bar joist frame. Beverage House occupies 100,000 SF consisting of 65,000 SF of warehouse/storage space and 35,000 SF of brewing and packaging areas. The heart of the operation is a 10,000 SF “brew room” built to FDA standards with mixing and brewing tanks capable of holding up to 3,000 gallons. In addition, the “brew room” required a specialized HVAC system which included eight 400,000 BTU gas fired heaters, nine ventilation fans and nine mechanical louvers designed with freeze protection.
