Our Story

Muschlitz specializes in bringing multiple services together in order to efficiently complete site work projects. These include site development, land clearing, mass earthwork, water/sewer installation, storm water systems, rock crushing/recycling , asphalt paving, surveying, concrete curbing/flatwork, foundation excavation, and landscaping. No matter the complexity of the project or the unique challenges associated with it, Muschlitz is capable.

When the Lehigh Valley’s largest enterprises need to expand or develop a new site, they call Muschlitz. Our list of successfully completed projects includes a wide variety of work for an extremely diverse set of clients, including Camelback Mountain Resort, Lehigh Valley International Airport, large residential developers and numerous municipalities and school systems.

A History of Exceptional Service

Muschlitz Excavating was founded in 1990 by Ron Muschlitz and his two sons, Jack and David.

The newly-founded company cut its teeth on small-scale residential projects – digging basements, grading lawns and installing septic systems. A sterling reputation in this space soon led to the firm’s first large commercial project: building athletic fields for Lehigh County in 1993.

More than two decades later, Muschlitz Excavating has grown to more than 110 skilled professionals, utilizing a fleet of over 200 late-model, GPS enabled equipment. These resources allow us to regularly work on multiple large projects at once, without stressing our capabilities or quality.

Though we’ve grown dramatically since our founding, our core values remain unchanged. We believe in honesty, integrity and respect; building rock-solid, mutually beneficial relationships with our clients. It is these relationships that lay the foundation for outstanding performance – and result in nearly 85 percent repeat business.

A Commitment to Safety

At the core of our job-site performance is our unwavering commitment to safety, both for the good of our employees and our clients. From our culture of accountability, our in-house safety committee and universal safety guidelines to OSHA, MSHA, CPR and First Aid training, we place the well-being of our professionals – and your reputation – front and center.

Certifications & Credentials

Muschlitz Excavating, Inc., is dedicated to continually improving and refining our capabilities and processes in order to better serve our clients. As such, we are active in industry groups, including the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.

Muschlitz holds Prequalification status with PennDOT, and was recognized by the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission and both the PA State Senate and House of Representatives as a Transportation Project Winner in 2014 for the State Route 145 – Section O8S Safety Improvement Project. In addition, our commitment to safety and training has resulted in our holding an impressive workers’ comp experience modifier – well above the industry standard.
