Lakota Builders was founded in 1995 by Michael Davis. Michael has over twenty years of carpentry experience, which inspired him to start his own company. The Lakota company was modeled after a Sioux branch of Native Americans of North Dakota called the Lakota.
The Lakota Indians were well known for their hand made goods and they took great pride in their creations. The Lakota Indians felt a little of their spirit stayed with each beautiful item they made, ensuring the Lakota ways would be preserved.
